PROFILE OF THE PRINCIPAL
Professor Strasser-King was a Fulbright scholar in the school of Mineral and Earth Sciences at the Pennsylvania State University, U.S.A. in 1980, and visitor to many universities in the U.K. and Germany sponsored by the British Council and DAAD respectively. He has served as external examiner in geology to Universities in West Africa.
From 1984 to 1990 he was in the Board of the International Geological Correlation Programme (IGCP) at UNESCO, Paris. He participated in several geotraverses for the UNESCO 'Geology for Economic Development' project in many West African countries.
He has held corporate positions in many companies including the Chairmanship of the Board of the Sierra Leone National Diamond Mining Company, directorship in the Sierra Leone National Power Authority. He is geological consultant to many companies, nationally and internationally. He has participated in many seminars, workshops and conferences in Sierra Leone and abroad and has many research publications in learned journals on Geology and higher Education.
Since his assumption of the principalship of the College he has initiated many infrastructural developments as well as academic structural changes.
